ÑUT Dance Company
NUT Dance Company (NDC) is a contemporary dance company that is based in Cairo. It was founded in 2011 by Hazem Header, the artistic director and founder. NDC creates and performs original dance pieces all around the world, and has received recognition from fellow artists, presenters, and audiences. The company welcomes volunteers and encourages anyone who is interested in dance, including children, seniors, and actors to participate. Even those who are new to the stage are welcome to join NDC and experience the joy of performing.
The company started Breaking Walls Festival in 2017.
Breaking Walls Festival
Breaking Walls is a festival that showcases innovative site-specific performances and dance workshops in Cairo. The festival is a collaboration between international and Egyptian artists who work together to develop performances in unconventional locations, creating opportunities for interaction between people and the city. The festival aims to foster equitable and sustainable relationships between international and Egyptian dance communities by promoting shared cultural production. It also provides professional development opportunities to the Egyptian contemporary dance community.
Breaking Walls Dance Films
Breaking Walls Dance Films (BWDF) is the first Dance Film Festival in Egypt and the Region. BWDF is an international event showcasing the best in dance film from around the world. The third edition will take place in Cairo and Minya in December 2023 with the participation of 27 films from 14 countries.
